About The Event

Over the past half century, Buddhist teacher and environmental activist, Joanna Macy, created the Work that Reconnects (WTR) in collaboration with thousands of fellow Earth-lovers. During this weekend together, we will explore the WTR spiral process by attending to our gratitude for all the Earth offers us, to our sorrows for the devastation facing our Earth, and to our unique contribution to Earth's well-being.

Collaborative, experiential exercises alongside periods of sitting and walking meditation will build community connections as well as offer insight into our duties as stewards for and with the Earth that sustains us. Participants can expect to spend much of the weekend outdoors with time spent sharing poetry, music and songs and celebrating community around a bonfire on Saturday night (weather permitting). We will explore in words and art, in partnership and as a group the riches all around us as creatures of this Earth.
