Time & Location

Nov 14, 2026, 10:00 AM – Nov 15, 2026, 2:30 PM

Saranam Retreat Center, Montrose, WV 26283, USA

About The Event

In this workshop we’ll talk about how we perceive our natural surroundings, how they sustain us, and how we can make use of them in our poetry, prose, and song. I’ll share some of my favorite nature-inspired writings and tell how a few of them have influenced me, and I’ll provide some prompts to get you thinking and writing. You’ll be invited, but not required, to share a bit of what you may write during the workshop. Weather permitting, we’ll probably spend some time outdoors, too — either as a group or singly, to immerse ourselves in our topic. (This will be optional, but pack a warm jacket and a pair of boots if you want to participate.)

Timetable

We’ll start at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, November 14, and the workshop will end at midafternoon on Sunday, November 15. On Saturday, we will have a full day for…
