About The Event
Foundations of Buddhist Yoga
We will explore the foundational principles and methods of yoga with physical exercises and breath practices of Tibetan Buddhist Yoga beginning with Lujong, and then have an introduction to Tsalung Trulkhor. With the goals of preparing the body, breath, and mind for meditation, we will learn techniques that will encourage clarity, balance, health and longevity.
Tibetan yoga’s main physical practices can be divided into lujong, and tsalung trulkhor.
Lujong can be translated as ‘bodily exercises’ or ‘bodily training.’ We will share lujong methods related to the five elements and various body systems, serving as cultivation practice to prepare for more advanced subtle energy and wind training. Lujong is easily learned by most, regardless of physical type or disposition.
