Making a [Re] Purposeful Book Part I
Time & Location
About The Event
In this workshop you will be guided to identify and develop a meaningful theme for your book, and learn a variety of artful techniques to repurpose the cards and other materials into pages.
Part II (in November) will focus on further embellishing and adding meaningful aspects to the pages, making book covers, assembling all the pages into a whole book, and sharing our book with the group.
As an added bonus, participants are invited to do one group Zoom session in September to keep the project moving forward, and to join a private Facebook page just for the group to share their work as it moves along.
You can register for one or both workshops; either way, you will have access to both the Zoom session and the Facebook page.
The workshop will be led by Connie Banta, therapist (retired), certified SoulCollage® leader, poet, book artist, and “cosmic play” facilitator.
Materials provided: A variety of art supplies and papers to alter pages and practice techniques. Participants are asked to bring a handful of greeting cards and other bits of junk mail that look interesting. More information about this will be emailed before the event begins.
Food and Lodging: The workshop will begin after dinner on Friday. Coffee and tea will be provided on Saturday. Please bring food for lunch on Saturday. If you are staying overnight Saturday and wish to join the group for potluck dinner, please bring food to share for that as well. You can store your food in our refridgerator if needed.
One overnight is included in the fee. If you want to stay more than one night, the additional fee is $25/night.
Enrollment: A minimum of 5 participants. Maximum of 8. Please feel free to forward this invitation to anyone you think might benefit.
NOTE: This workshop will only happen if the COVID threat has eased adequately to gather safely. Should Saranam decide to cancel the event, you will receive a full refund.
