Climate Grief Workshop

This experiential, daylong workshop follows the lens of Joanna Macy’s Work that Reconnects, which provides a helpful model through which to investigate a range of difficult emotions each of us likely carries due to the ever-deepening harm facing our natural world home. The Work that Reconnects is based on Buddhist tenets like acknowledging suffering in ourselves and the world, and attending to ourselves with compassion and care. Our work together may lead towards opening further (or re-connecting) to our deep interrelatedness to our plant, animal, rock, river and soil kin.

In this workshop we will follow the first parts of the spiral of this work - coming from gratitude and honoring our pain for the world. Participants will spend time in reflection both individually and as a group. In addition to collaborative exercises, we will have brief periods of meditation and sharing insights.
