About The Event
This is the second part of a workshop begun earlier this year, in which participants have been In guided in making a lovely, soulful book by re-purposing greeting cards, junk mail, and other materials found in most households. Part II will focus on further embellishing and adding meaningful aspects to their pages, making book covers, assembling all the pages into a whole book, and sharing our book with the group.
In addition to this workshop, participants are invited to do one group Zoom session in August to keep the project moving forward, and to join a private Facebook page just for the group to share their work as it moves along.
The workshop will be led by Connie Banta, therapist (retired), certified SoulCollage® leader, poet, book artist, and “cosmic play” facilitator.
NOTE: This workshop will only happen at Saranam if the COVID threat has eased adequately to gather safely. Both Saranam and anyone who registers ahead of time are free to cancel at any time if it does not feel safe, and your fees will be quickly refunded. Should Saranam decide to cancel the event, you may be offered the option of attending a one-day Zoom workshop at a reduced price. Part II will begin at 9am Saturday morning (November 15) and finish at 4pm Sunday, November 16.
Materials provided: A variety of art supplies and papers to alter pages and practice techniques.
Food and Lodging: For Saturday, please bring a bag lunch and/or food to share. If you are staying overnight Saturday, and wish to join the group for potluck dinner, please bring food to share for that. You can stay overnight at Saranam. One night is included in the fee. If you want to stay more than one night, the additional fee is $20/night.
Enrollment: A minimum of 5 participants. Maximum of 10. Please feel free to forward this invitation to anyone you think might benefit.
